Wishing people good morning
Morning.

In recent days, I've taken to going for an early morning walk. Along with dog walkers, early commuters and others. I'm not normally a particularly extrovert person, but have started wishing people I pass a good morning. For a few people, this seems to intrude on their personal space and all they can manage in return is a grunt of unwelcome acknowledgement, but most seem to appreciate the greeting with a smile and a cheery response in kind.

I like that.

Y'all have a nice day now.

I remember early Sunday morning trips to the newsagents when I was growing up. There seemed to be an early-riser camaraderie - it was a natural thing to say 'morning' to complete stangers but only at that time of the day and only at weekends.

I miss that.

Ha, I'm talking about nearly 40 years ago, on the streets those locals quickly became invisible, everyone else seemed pretty friendly.

I find with my facial tattoos that people don't say it to me and look shit scared when I say morning to them.

Mrs C and I take an autumnal break to North Devon with the hounds, just back

Have been morninged to oblivion by the friendly buggers - every fucker wants to be pleasant

Takes some getting used to and reminded me of when a nipper with Mum and Dad down there some kindly yokel bade the old man a good morning to which young blood piped 'do you know him Dad?'

Some kind of social commentary in there and neither recent

When it was just all fields?

My mate has lived there for 25:years. Has given up trying to be friendly for years now. We moan about Sharia law etc but that lot have their own way of dealing with 'issues' and even have their own police force and ambulance service. Shomrim or something. I never knew about that until recently

Haha. I've got friends I stay with in Bouverie Road., N16. Cant engage the locals for lve nor money. Could think of a lot worse types of neighbours, but the contempt they hold Anglo whitey is annoying to put it mildly.

How about Good Evening?

That's pretty rare, apart from Hampstead Heath.

I would feel like a total Cunt if I did not say Good Morning, its just what I do and expect others to do too.

But I know it is going somewhat out of fashion which means we as human beings are going backwards, sad.

I can't see what's wrong with trying to be friendly, as most people respond positively, but with some people you're fighting a losing battle.
My 26 year old son lives between Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill, so whenever I visit him I make a point of giving out a greeting of good morning/afternoon/evening to the local weirdo's, a.k.a. the frummers.
Every one of them, whether man or woman, completely ignores you. They go out of their way not to communicate with anyone who doesn't belong to their mad sect.
Horrible fuckers the lot of them.

Northerners like to think of themselves as friendly.

But they mistake nosiness for friendliness.

Proper nosey cunts northerners.. The woman especially.

I've lost count of the number of people I say good morning to who just look at me as though I was mad

The English are the most miserable people on earth (unless they're pissed) in my experience
